TANGIER – Mrs. Melissa Jane Cox, 93, died at 10:30 a. m. Saturday at the home of a son, Mote Cox, at Rockville. She had been ill three months. Born Nov. 18, 1866, near Cates, she was the daughter of Calvin and Josephine Summers Keller. She married Robert J. Cox, Aug. 7, 1885, and had been a resident of this community since then. Mrs. Cox was a member of the Friends Church and Ladies Aid Society. Survivors include Mote Cox and two other sons, Lee of Covington and Burchard of Tangier; three daughters, Mrs. Maus Kormalis of Whittier, Calif., Mrs. Hazel Massey of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Leannah Summers of Chicago; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Barnes Mortuary at Rockville. Burial will be in Tangier Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. -– jlr
